The Design Center
3611 5th Avenue, San Diego, CA

Noted San Diego Architect, Lloyd Ruocco, created the Design Center at 5th Avenue in 1950 as offices and studios for architects, interior designers, and other related design professionals. Many prominent ventures emerged from the design center including Psychology Today magazine.

The building and site remain much as first conceived, a steel and glass structure with floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors, nestled in a canyon of mature Eucalyptus trees.

The Design Center at Fifth Avenue is considered a classic example of San Diego's modernist architecture.
